Christians: Why don't you all become Catholic. As Pascall said, what have you got to lose?
The point of Pascal's Wager was only that believing in something is a better bet than believing in nothing, it doesn't specify what, so specifying Catholicism is outside the purview of his argument. You can also argue that by becoming Catholic you grant a human authority to be equal to that of God, since the Pope is considered to speak with Divine Infallibility, and thus you are offending God by saying He isn't capable of speaking for himself or making himself understood without human istance. If you're right then by becoming Protestant you eliminate that risk, and as you point out, whichever view may or may not be right, there's no way you can know it for a fact.
