Help! Being taken to small claims court for auto accident and I do have insurance. Advice?

notify your insurer. They will defend you and pay the judgment. They tried to reach an out-of-court settlement but failed to do so. so, it goes to court. However, your insurer is obliged to hire a lawyer to defend the suit and then to pay any judgment up to the limts of the policy. If you do not notify them, then they are no longer obliged to defend or to pay the judgment.
